Class description:

The workshop deals with the design of images in glass and presents the latest techniques in the language of glass fusing. It is aimed at painters who are looking for ways to transform their paintings into glass and at glass artists who want to use visual images. The focus of the workshop is not so much on making objects, but on exploring ways to create images in glass and bring them to life with light.

Aims of the workshop

The stimulation of a new understanding of today's possibilities to transform fine art into glass and to teach the participants the basic concepts of a new glass language, which is necessary for the execution of images in glass.

Narcissus Quagliata presents in a systematic manner all the latest developments that enable a painter, artist, glass painter or glass artist to realise his themes in glass. It is a practice-oriented workshop, i.e. the participants create smaller panel samples in the sense of experiments. The interaction of painting with enamels and fusing will also be explored. In the conceptual part of the workshop, Narcissus Quagliata will give various lectures on the basics of Fusing. He examines and documents new and recent works with a focus on detail and explains the working method and process.
